A Yagi antenna is a directional antenna that radiates signals in one main direction. It consists of a long transmission line and a driven element consisting of two rods connected on either side of the transmission line. It also consists of a single reflector on one side of the transmission line and multiple parasitic elements that act as directors. The Yagi's drive element is equivalent to a center-fed half-wave dipole antenna.
Both Log Periodic Antenna and Yagi Antenna are high gain directional antennas. The main difference between these antennas is that Log-Periodic Antennas support wider frequency bandwidths and are physically much larger than Yagi antennas.
Conceptually, Log-Periodic Antennas are similar to Yagi Antennas. Log-periodic antennas have the ability to work across a wide range of frequencies, whereas Yagi Antennas are optimized for one particular frequency range.
