The backfire antenna is a small directional antenna with excellent gain, compact high performance Wi-Fi reflector antenna. They look similar to a parabolic dish, but the gain isn't as high.
It is ideally suited for IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless LANs and other systems operating in the 2.4GHz ISM band and CPE (Customer PremiseEquipment) applications where high gain in a compact package is desired.
